Best time to perform Cardio
IS THERE A BEST TIME TO DO CARDIO FOR EXTRA FAT BURN?
No. The timing you perform your cardio exercises will not make a difference at all. There is no “best” time for cardio, you can do your cardio exercises whenever you want to – it all comes down to personal preference. (I just don’t recommend doing cardio right before your weights as you won’t have much energy for the weights.) But any other time is perfectly fine and will not make a difference to your overall end results.
I HEARD THE BEST TIME TO DO CARDIO IS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING ON AN EMPTY STOMACH AS THIS WILL BURN MORE FAT?
You probably have heard that doing cardio exercise first thing in the morning on an empty stomach (fasted state), or cardio post-workout is the best time for cardio. Your glycogen stores are depleted or low so you can dip into your fat stores for energy and you will supposedly burn more fat by doing cardio exercises at these times. Although you will burn more fat during the fasted cardio session in the morning as oppose to cardio later on in the day in a feed state, the end results of the total amount of fat loss over the whole day will be equal. This is because fat loss is all about calories in vs calories out and the human body works on a much larger time frame.
If your fasted cardio session burns 400 calories and your feed cardio session burns 400 calories then the end result over the day will be EQUAL. So whether
you choose to do your cardio exercises in a feed or fasted state, it will NOT matter or make any difference what so ever to the total amount of fat
lost.
CONCLUSION
There is no best time to do cardio. Do your cardio exercises whenever it suits you best, it will make no difference to fat burned over a 24-hour period.
