4 Ways to Stop Yourself Stress Eating
Have you ever just opened the refrigerator or pantry just because you’re bored?
Or maybe you’re stressed from work and you find an escape through food.
Here at JRF, we get asked for advice on stress eating and how to stick to your calorie allowance all the time. The truth is, we are spending a lot of time at home while many of us are experiencing lockdown restrictions.
So, we are faced with the constant temptation of frequent snacks which can lead to boredom eating…

Here are a few tips we have put together to help reduce boredom and stress eating:
1. Don’t leave food close by.
Leaving snacks around your desk will lead to the inevitable. Remove any temptation and you’ll find yourself not focusing on snacking which will help you stick to your meal plan.
2. Get a snack added to your meal plan.
If you are really hungry or craving something, get in touch! We want to make sure we are setting you up for success by providing a meal plan you enjoy and can stick to. The customer support team will be able to recalculate your calories to allow for a snack to be added while sticking to your calorie allowance.
3. Keep yourself busy.
This can help to reduce boredom and stress! Get outside and walk around your area, try a new exercise or dig into those jobs around the house you’ve been putting off. A little distraction may be all you need.
4. Stuck at home?
It’s the perfect time to focus on healthy habits, which includes drinking enough water. Maintaining good hydration is important for our overall health and can help prevent overeating related to stress.
We hope these tips will make it easier to avoid eating when you feel stressed or bored so you stay on track with your fitness goal.
